Evaluation of hematological indices in terms of COVID-19 related mortality and ICU admission

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that patients should be categorized according to their risk group, patient follow-up and the use of health resources arranged this categorization. Therefore, practical inexpensive biomarkers are needed. In study, relationship between neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet (PLR), mean volume (MPV) red blood cell distribution width (RDW) levels, which can easily calculated by complete count, with mortality intensive care unit (ICU) admission in disease was evaluated.
 Materials Methods: 748 inpatients positive PCR test were evaluated retrospectively. NLR, PLR, MPV RDW levels from count parameters at hospital admissions ICU Results: terms mortality, a statistically significant difference found evaluation performed groups who survived died (p: 0.014). No PLR levels. made (+) (-) groups, NLR 0.042, p: 0.01, respectively). There no for admission.
